Properties
of Matter

Students observe how matter interacts and how it behaves
when heated. They then provide explanations of their
observations, considering such themes as density; mixtures
and solutions; and compounds, elements, and chemical
reactions. The themes of these inquiries are explored in
detail throughout the module, giving students opportunities
to re-examine and modify their explanations.
