Computer Science

Bay Kids' Weather Page
A very worthy weather site in its own right, this site created by sixth graders is an example of the great websites that kids can make. This site might inspire your students to undertake a project like this of their own.

Our Weather Page
Here's another example of a class-created website. These fourth grade students charted their local weather, wrote poetry about clouds, and created a weather storybook.

Literature/Folklore

Weather Lore
The purpose of weather lore was to instruct early farmers, sailors, herdsmen, and others on how to predict the weather. This fascinating page lists many examples of weather lore and explains the science behind them.

Weather Folklore and Proverbs
This site explains what weather folklore is and provides links to different types of weather folklore and mythology sites, including rainbow mythology, weather proverbs, and weather myths.

Flood Stories from Around the World
This page offers hundreds of flood stories from the world's folklore. It could be interesting for your students to share in some of these stories and think about the tremendous impact that weather—even possibly mythical weather—can have on cultures and history.

Multidiscipline

The Weather Unit
Choose from many subject areas—including math, reading and writing, social studies, art, and music—to discover activities that expand and integrate weather study into many disciplines.

Snow Activities
An Alaskan family created this site filled with snow information and activity ideas. Learn how to capture and study snowflakes, make snow-inspired art, and read snow folk tales and poems.
